Crewbeam
DRAFT. English summary of the German privacy policy, which is itself still a draft. A lawyer must check both texts together. Then delete this box. Do not publish as it is.

Privacy notice

This page summarises our privacy policy in English. The German privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung) is the binding version and contains all details. In short: the website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other servers. The app stores only what crews, places and meeting points need, and deletes a lot of it automatically after a few days.

1. Who is responsible

CHARGED ELEMENTS GmbH
Breite Str. 159
22767 Hamburg, Germany
represented by the managing director Christian Ahrenkiel
Phone: Number on www.chargedelements.com
Email: info [at] chargedelements [dot] com

2. Website

Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). When you visit a page, the host processes the technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the address requested and browser details. On the invite page, this includes the code in the address.

No cookies, no analytics

The website uses no cookies and no analytics or advertising services. Fonts and scripts come from this website itself, not from other servers.

Packing list in your browser

The festival packing list remembers your ticks and your own items in your browser’s local storage, so they are still there next time. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time with “Clear all ticks”, by removing your own items or in your browser settings.

Android waiting list

If you want to know when Crewbeam is available for Android, you can leave your email address. We store the address and the time of your consent with Netlify Forms and email you once, as soon as the Android version is out. After that, the address is deleted. You can withdraw your consent at any time: info [at] chargedelements [dot] com.

3. App

You sign in with “Sign in with Apple”. Apple gives us a pseudonymous identifier and your first name, if you choose to share it. We don’t ask for your email address.

Profile

We store the display name you choose, the language of the app and your time zone. We need the time zone so notifications show the right time.

Crew, location, places and meeting points

  • Location: your position is only stored and shown to your crew while you share it. It is deleted automatically when sharing ends or if it hasn’t been updated for two days. You can go invisible at any time.
  • Places, tents and cars: name, location and optionally a photo, visible to your crew until someone deletes them. Your private tent stays on your iPhone only, as long as you don’t share it with the crew.
  • Meeting points: name, location, time, optionally a photo and a note, plus who is coming. They are deleted two days after the meeting, their photos after three days.
  • Alerts and crew chat: “Come over here” and help alerts to the crew, including chat messages and photos, are deleted after seven days. The help button does not call the emergency services.

Notifications

For notifications we store a device token from Apple. It is used only for that.

Statistics

We count whether the app was opened on a given day, without any content. More detailed usage data, for example which sections are opened, is only stored with your consent. You can turn it off in the app at any time, and the data collected so far is then deleted. This data is deleted after 400 days. Locations, messages, photos or names are never stored in the statistics.

Reporting, blocking and feedback

If you report content, block people or send us feedback, we store this information to fight abuse and improve the app.

Tips

Voluntary tips are handled by Apple. We don’t receive any payment details.

Deleting your account

In the app, under Profile and “Delete account”, you can delete your account at any time. This removes the account and its data and revokes the connection to “Sign in with Apple”.

Where app data is stored

The data is stored with Supabase in a data centre in the EU.

4. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
